The rope with a history
Needless to say, Berliner have not been manufacturing rope play equipment since 1865, but the rope manufacturer Berliner Seilfabrik goes back to one of the first companies in Germany to engage in the industrial production of wire cables. The Berliner know-how in rope manufacturing is based on this tradition.
Berliner only use galvanized steel wires with a tensile strength of 1770 N/mm2. For the covering of the rope strands we use highly abrasion-resistant, UV stabilized yarn made out of polyamide and polyester with carpet yarn quality. The colour fastness of our ropes is monitored in accordance with ISO 4892-2A.
A large proportion of the quality of the ropes is defined by the fact that Berliner have taken to heart the wisdom of their old rope craftsman: “Haste makes waste” and therefore they twist all ropes with a maximum of 63 rpm, without exception.
The Berliner seal of quality
This seal of quality guarantees best quality. Berliner ropes are made out of four-stranded cables which, because of its coarse surface texture, allow an optimal grip for children’s hands. Therefore it is especially suitable for rope play equipment.
